After 2 years, 25% of couples are worse off.
After 4 years, 38% of couples are divorced.
Couples in serious trouble often have difficulty finding a therapist with the skills to help them.
The average time a couple is unhappy before seeking therapy is six years.
More marriages could be saved if couples started therapy sooner when problems arise.
One experimental therapy that is having success is integrative behavioral couples therapy.
